~  Weird and Wonderful Wood  ~

Once again ‘Weird and Wonderful Wood’ will be held at Haughley Park, just off the A14 near Stowmarket, on the 17th and 18th of May.

Weird and Wonderful Wood is an annual fair celebrating one of the Earth’s greatest natural materials and those who work with it. If you are fascinated by the beauty or practical uses of wood in all its forms, this is an event you will enjoy.

Weird and Wonderful Wood is never the same from year to year. There are new things happening and new experiences every time. There are different stalls, different demonstrations, different workshops and different performers. But one aspect never changes, the event’s very special atmosphere that attracts people back year after year. For those who love beautiful wooden objects, are fascinated to see how they are made and like to try making things for themselves, all in a truly beautiful setting, it has become an annual experience not to be missed.

If you have not been before, you will find it a friendly, relaxed event with something for all the family. There is no hassle or rush. Enjoy yourself at your own pace. Over fifty artists and crafts people are there to meet and talk to you about their products. There will even be a mobile sawmill on site, so if you want to bring your own tree, it can be cut for you. Then when you need a break, there is excellent local food and drink.

We value your input. In addition to the ideas we have for the coming year, we would welcome any suggestions that you might have. If you have seen any interesting demonstrations or interactive workshops that you feel would be good for us to have, please let us know. All ideas will be welcomed.

Robert Williams has very kindly invited us again to Haughley Park, where his lovely grounds and barn provides the perfect setting for the event, which is organised by Stow Hundreds.
